4U Academy will assist individuals and families in building education, social, community information and provide resources. Our goal is to safely create successful members of society. By brining an awareness and clearer understanding; schools, communities and families can better appreciate the impact individuals with ASD can have on our world.

AUTISM ALERT DECAL

4U Academy created a decal sticker for your car, your home or a business to indicate to law enforcement, emergency personnel that there is a someone in the car or home with autism present. Also, businesses can serve as a SAFE PLACE for those on the autism spectrum.

Welcome to 4U Academy - Social Awareness & Family Enhancement (SAFE). We are dedicated to tackling the challenges faced by our youth and inner cities through awareness, education, and proactive solutions. Our mission is to foster excellence in education by offering quality workshops, conferences, and support groups to empower parents, educators, and community members. Together, we can create a stronger, more connected community that effectively addresses issues like violence, bullying, and social stigmas.

SPORTS INSTRUCTION

Coach Brent Carmichael's journey in basketball began at United Township High School in East Moline, IL, where he showcased his talent for three years. He then advanced to Olney Central Junior College before securing a scholarship to play Division 1 at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). At UNI, he excelled, leading the team in minutes played, assists, steals, and rebounds, while finishing as the second-highest scorer in his junior year. His accolades include First Team All-Conference honors in his junior season and Second Team recognition his senior year, before moving on to professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) 1986 to 1991 and playing overseas in 1990.

During his work and professional playing days in Rockford, IL Brent spent over 1000 hours of volunteering with the Rockford Public Schools. Rockford Park District, Special Olympics and Youth & Family Oriented Programs. Brent spent two years as the Assistant Youth Director at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Rockford.

After spending time in Rockford and Denver, CO, Brent was asked to assist John Perez (his mentor) with his sons summer basketball travel team. After one summer, the Quad City Basketball Academy (QCBA) was organized in 2000.

Coach Carmichael made a significant impact in the Quad City, IL area from 2001 to 2006, establishing a strong presence in the Midwest Summer AAU Tournaments. Under his leadership, Brent successfully developed over 130 players across 12 teams from 16 different schools. His teams clinched two American Youth Basketball Tour (AYBT) National Championships in both the 8th grade and High School Divisions, notably defeating the Minnesota Icemen, who held an impressive 72-0 record over three years. With over 20 years of coaching experience at both the high school and college levels, Coach Carmichael also served as a recruiter and assistant coach at Ellsworth Community College for two years.

FUNDRAISING

4U Academy will seek to leverage both private and public resources to effectively provide information, resources, events and services for local communities. Our plan to utilize personal and professional contacts to serve as ambassadors for each of our programs.
